Two sharks, measuring approximately 14" and weighing two lbs., were found dead in the Tennessee River within a short time of one another. The first was brought from the river, already dead, by a dog; the second was found washed-up on the bank several miles away. Both sharks were found by visitors to popular destination points along the river in Decatur County, TN.
While the species of the sharks is unknown, Keith Byrd of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, who is looking into the matter, says he hesitates to call them "baby" sharks. How the sharks got into the Tennessee River will likely never be known, but it is strongly suspected they were bought as bait in Florida or Mississippi and dumped in the river, perhaps as a joke. It is also possible they were someone's pets until they outgrew their aquarium home. However, Byrd says it is possible the sharks made it up the river either from the Gulf of Mexico or the Mississippi River.
Saltwater specimens have been found in freshwater Tennessee rivers before. A Florida manatee was discovered in the Wolf River Conservancy in Memphis, and blue crab and needlefish have been found in the Tennessee River in the past.

30-Hour Power Outage
Sorry. The power went out at around 4:30p Wednesday afternoon and didn't come back on until 9:30-10:00p last night! The phone was also out, but it turns out that's because the storm killed my Vista box!!! Luckily, I have this trusty Win 98 back-up. I can't afford to have the Vista computer repaired right now; it would take every dime I have. Maybe I can have someone look at it in a few weeks. In the meantime, I'll make-do with this superior piece of machinery.
Anyway, I didn't get your Ghost Adventures preview posted yesterday, but it's a few hours before the show, so I'll get it to you in a few.

Still Moving
Sorry guys; I forgot about you again. This move is really taking its toll on me. It already took its toll on my little female friend: she flew the coop! But it's all good; the truth is that it's just as well and I guess we've both been thinking that for a while now. I still have almost all the dishes to pack and I knew they would be a hassle, which is why I'd been saying they needed to be packed since the weekend.
If you read the link above, you'll understand why I may be sitting in the dark all weekend. And though I'm almost certainly pulling an all-nighter, I won't be able to be here much tonight. Hopefully, I'll find a few things to keep you busy, but we do have some pretty extensive archives for you to check out until I'm able to get back to you.

Decatur County, TN Police Harassment
I know things have been slow lately and that part of it has to do with my trying to get the site back together and published and everything along those lines, but there is another bit that has been keeping me busy in a non-productive way, as well.
As I may have told you here a while back, the Decatur County, TN police have been harassing the living shit out of me for years now. They show up on my door, claiming to have had "disturbance" reports even though nothing is going on and they cannot describe any sort of disturbance; they pull me over for "routine checks" and claim they are pulling everyone over, even though there's no roadblock and no one is else is being stopped; they arrested and falsified documents, perjured themselves on the stand, and "lost" the evidence they manufactured, including my scheduled court appearance; and so forth.
Lately, it has gotten to the point that I can hardly function. It is hard for me to think, much less work. But I have to try because I need the money so I can try and pay off this exorbitant fine I never should have received.
In the meanwhile, you'll notice the quality of the writing has suffered and the amount of time between posts has become longer and longer. Again, I am doing what I can, but you will just have to bear with me while I try my best to cope with all of this. I apologize, but this is not my fault.

Organized Religion the Gateway to Molestation
While others may argue the veracity of this claim, the proof overrides their objections.
On a regular basis, organized religious sects - called "cults" in almost any other regard - are being found to participate in heinous sexual abuse against minors. Even excepting such atrocities as the recent YFZ (Yearning for Zion) compound in Texas, we are left with more of the same across the boards. A local Baptist preacher in my area was just sentenced to prison time for distributing child pornography, in fact, and the Catholic Church is literally infamous for the practice.
The simple fact of the matter is that we now have the proof that these practices are not limited to specific sects, cults, or congregations; organized religion - at least in the United States - is simply a front for child sexual abuse and pornography. And while that, in and of itself, is pernicious enough, there is a larger, overlying precept which makes all forms of organized religion evil by nature: the covering-up of the crime.
We've discussed Evil here before and it most certainly can be measured. Divorcing the idea from any dogmatic or other overtones by cultural more or societal anything leaves us with a very clear and concise definition: Doing whatever one wants to further one's own desires, especially to the detriment of others.
While merely "doing bad things" is wrong, we all do it occasionally because it's part of human nature. I'm not here to argue human nature as inherently Good or Evil; everyone does Evil things from time to time for all sorts of reasons, but that is not the point of this discussion. The point is that, while Evil acts happen and Evil occurs, this does not necessarily make the person who does them necessarily Evil. However, when one's intention is to commit Evil, one follows through on the intent, and then takes action to cover it up... that, right there, is the specific way to determine if someone/something is Evil.
And organized religion fits that definition, clearly and plainly.
Even worse, it indoctrinates others into the circle of Evil it perpetrates, insidiously corrupting people into thinking Evil is God's plan, His will. Once the circle is begun, punishing the victims is (though heavily favored in a backward, Puritanical nation such as ours) clearly the wrong approach; such people have to be deprogrammed - a process which is almost as hard to carry-out as to undergo, and one that can be unpredictable.
All manner of atrocities, sins, and the overall retardation of Man's advancement can be laid at the Church's doorstep, yet no one answers the door.

Largely Spam-Free

The OddBlog, along with all of the other Weirding blogs, moderates all comments for this very reason.
Now, I do not know if zgshjtplknzzdwqssghk-ssdjkzx is actually a spammer, but with a name and post like that, I figure it's a pretty safe bet. This is why comments are moderated. I sometimes sleep late, and sometimes take the day off, but you can rest assured that -- barring some unforeseen circumstance -- I check the blogs several times a day, and if your comments are not spam (or just plain insulting), they will be approved shortly thereafter.
Around the time I got the site set-up (Halloween, 2006), all of the blogs, all of the e-mail boxes on the site, and The Speakeasy were literally bombarded with spam! At its height, I was getting 300+ spam posts and e-mails a day! In fact, I have since shut down The Speakeasy [later The Humidor - ed.] because of all the spam there. I started moderating comments and the spam kept-up for about a month or so, but then dropped to literally nothing; today is the first spam post I've seen even try to make it through in months.
So, if you post a comment and wonder why it doesn't show up immediately, you can thank zgshjtplknzzdwqssghk-ssdjkzx and its non-gender-specific ilk.

Issues
Well, as you can clearly see, I am making some progress. However, Blogger has gone down several times the past couple days, which is unusual. In the 2+ years I have been using the service, I have never known the servers to get overloaded -- and it has happened at least 4-5 times since yesterday.
Of course, much of what I am doing requires me to go through old posts, change a few tags, then republish them. Since it sometimes takes 3-4 minutes or longer for it to publish via FTP, I kept putting it off. I moved the blog back onto the BlogSpot servers to circumvent that. I hope I am not the one breaking Blogger, but if I am... you know.
Fuck them.
God knows I have sat around for days on-end, waiting for posts to go through FTP! Besides, Google is the online Microsoft and that drives me nuts -- it isn't like they're hurting for money, for fuck's sake! If you offer a free service like Blogger, then you should have your ducks in a row! Don't tell me Google can't afford servers!
Maybe if they cleared out all the search histories they keep, we wouldn't be experiencing outages? Just a thought.
Anyway, still working on the tags -- I'm about 3/4 of the way through. After that, it's back to the design itself. I will republish the blog to the site tonight, but you may still be redirected to BlogSpot occasionally over the next few weeks [This was in 2008 - ed.], as I continue to tweak things. All I am doing with the tags right now is streamlining them; once the list is down to a manageable size, I will eventually go back through and work on assigning them properly so that it is easier to find posts.

D-Day Delayed
Well, thank God, the judge gave me until March 3rd to pay the rest of this fine, which means he'll "review" the case at that time. I'll have to figure out some way of paying whatever I can between now and then, but I have no idea how I'm going to do it. I have no idea how I'm going to pay all my bills for this month! And I have to get on that soon because they're all due!
I have a few odd stories to get out to you today and now that I have high-speed access, I'm able to check out a lot of these videos and audio-clips from other paranormal and cryptozoological sites, so I can get back into the real meat and potatoes of the OddBlog. I'll have several stories for you today, but it will likely be a day or two before I can get to the really deep stuff.
Anyway, with that out of the way and the total leech of a "friend" I recently made out of my hair for good, I'm focusing all my attention on getting back to work. I tried like hell to network this box with the 98 computer last night, but I couldn't get them to see one another, so I still can't get to the old files yet. I may wind-up just connecting the 98 box to the cable modem (sans hub) in order to transfer the files over to this one... somehow.
So, it's shaping-up to be a good week so far (knock wood!).

Today 11-20-07
Sorry. With all the FTP problems and everything else going on around here, I simply had to take a few days off. Luckily, several interesting things went down while I was gone, so we've got a day or two of moderately-heavy posting for you. Just depends on whether or not I can get my ass in motion!
I have been unable to get moving today. Has to do with the medications I take, and not sleeping and eating well. And the whole house is a wreck; I don't remember the last time I cleaned the place. Wouldn't take more than an hour or so to get everything together, I just don't feel like doing it.
Anyway, I want to get you some fun stuff... but I have to pay my frigging cable bill!
UPDATE: I overpaid Charter Communications nearly $400 during this period, which has never been refunded. That's why there are so many posts regarding this, and similar troubles, from around this time. Charter Communications had its BBB license revoked due to embezzlement and impropriety, but got it back after throwing the BBB a gala affair in St. Louis. I have never received my money back to date. - 2018

A (Possible) Retraction
Yesterday (or maybe the day before - the electricity went off last night and stayed off for a long time and I was right in the middle of putting an entry together when it happened, so I got off-track), I was pretty hard on the American media for reporting - sketchily - on supposed arsons in the California area.
You have to understand, as I feel certain many who are interested in the subjects we cover here do, that the media - and particularly the American media - are just as corrupt as the Decatur County, TN legal system (and that's damnably corrupt!) and they literally ignore stories which are truly newsworthy in favor of lurid and scandalous rumors whenever possible. It's all a ratings game to them and I smelled a rat(ings booster).
But FNC - and I generally consider FNC's actual news coverage to be fairly accurate (though I freely admit their op/ed shows can get downright creepy in their rhetoric) - is reporting today that California police have made several arrests of possible arsons, and even managed to kill one.
I'm pretty sure the one that was killed was in or near L.A. Just... putting that out there.
Now, we here to The Weirding are completely unlike any other "media outlet" you have ever encountered in that we freely admit when we are wrong. And not in some buried, little sidebar somewhere on page 98.
At this point and time, though nothing has been confirmed, it does appear that at least some of the California wildfires may very well have been the result of arson and we are sorry to hear that is the case.
But we were wrong (we think) and we wanted you to know!

Today's Agenda
I posted today's agenda over to Rated-B, in case you are interested. I also discussed some on sponsored posting (more on the drawbacks and work involved, as opposed to any sort of defense of it). In case you aren't so interested, the rundown on the whole thing is that I am probably going to be spending more time over there today than anywhere else because it's Monday and it's a big press release and entertainment news day.
I am also going to work on some content for The Weirding, as this is the big week. You'll notice some major changes there throughout the week, along with some new content. Depending on how much time I spend on everything, it may be a whole, whole lot of new content, or it may just be a little bit. Either way it goes, new content is on the way and a lot of it will be revealed between now and Christmas.
This fucking legal imbroglio really set me back, robbing me of my time and gnawing at my sanity and concentration.
Regardless, I simply refuse to push myself to the point of burn-out because I have already done that too many times to count, and then I have to take a break from everything for at least a week or so and it takes forever to get back into the swing of things; it just isn't worth it. I'd rather things were slow across the board for a week or two than completely dead.
Anyway, we'll be bringing you at least a few things here today, at least one or two posts over to Weird Ink, most likely several over to Rated-B, and hopefully we'll get some more content up on the site by tonight.

Odd Agenda 10-16-07
Hey guys. Sorry I haven't gotten to you in a day or two. I am going to be posting a few news items today, in fact. It's early, early morning here (3:15, to be exact) and I just wanted to say hello and let you know I'm still around.
I have been doing research on law and where to get some help, as well as looking for a place to move. It's so sad and painful the way things have turned out, but when I called the probation officer today to ask him how the whole thing works, he got snippy with me because I filed the appeal and told me he didn't think I could drop it. I don't know if I can or not, but since I was only given 10 days (you usually have 30 days to appeal criminal convictions and three of those 10 days were weekend/holiday, so I have yet to actually speak to a criminal lawyer!), I had to go ahead and file it just in case. They have railroaded me at every turn and I feel my back is to the wall, so I'm pulling out the big guns and contacting any and everyone I can think of concerning my situation.
I also posted a whole, whole lot over to Rated-B. I was working under a deadline, but I also had a lot of press releases and some entertainment news. I actually have quite a few pieces to get to here and I was happy about that. It's been a kind of snappy news week for Science and Weird News, so now that all The Rated-B stuff is done, I have a busy day or two here and I'll make sure to get to it today.
I am also trying to get a lot of content up on The Weirding this month. We first launched last Halloween and I love the holidays, so I am going to do themes for both Halloween and Christmas and introduce a bunch of content over these next several months. But I'm having to divide my time between all these projects, so please be patient!

Welcome to The OddBlog!
I've noticed a surge of new visitors recently and I'd like to welcome everyone and thank you all for your comments - I hope to hear more from you in the coming weeks! But I wanted to post this really quickly to let you all know a little bit about The OddBlog:
This is actually a new version of an old blog. I won't post the link to that one because the site which hosted it (it's still there) screwed me out of a bunch of money, which is the reason I moved it to my own domain. Since moving it though, I haven't had the chance to be as active here as I was on the old one, largely because I didn't have The Weirding back then, so I had much more time to blog about things. However, I am trying harder now to divide my time between all of the projects, so I hope to have more solid content up soon.
I recently posted about how you have to go into the sidebar and click on the Archives to see the older posts. That entry explains why (Blogger doesn't have a workaround or code to fix this and I haven't had the time to figure one out on my own yet) and give an apology.
Yesterday, I got up the Sitewide Disclosure Policy, which basically explains that some of the posts are sponsored. I have been working on getting more content on The Weirding, which has taken some time away from all the blogs. The local law enforcement of Decatur County, TN, led by Chief Kenny Fox, have been harassing the shit out of me for months now - going on two years, actually - and falsely arrested me on August 11th. The entire thing is a complete setup, orchestrated by Chief Kenny Fox, who has personally made such threats as, "You better watch out or you might wind-up floating in the river," and the like, including forwarding rumors about my sexuality, relationships with others, and religious beliefs and practices, and the assistant DA, Adam Jowers, and presiding judge, Ricky Woods (both of Decatur County, TN) changed documents, dates, times, addresses, names - the whole nine - and purposely withheld evidence that would clear me, just so they could unlawfully convict me of a crime that never occurred and hopefully avoid a civil suit. They also ignored solid evidence given in my defense, refused me proper legal counsel, and worse - now they claim to have no transcript or recording of the hearing! But I have a bad feeling that they will suddenly "find" one if they need to (though that may work in my favor, since they blatantly perjured themselves and ignored the evidence and testimony I put forth). I have been fighting this since that time, especially because I was held for 7 days without bond on a 12-hour charge, and the charges against me have been changed four times. So I am also looking to move ASAP.
This has obviously kept me from being able to do my job.
Obviously I am upset because these people are harassing and persecuting me, but I also want to draw attention to this because Decatur County, TN is trying to get a college and I am here to tell everyone that will listen, you do not want your children going to college in this county! People have been picketing outside the new courthouse for months to get these assholes out of office and to have them investigated and it hasn't happened yet, so they obviously have some pull somewhere. Every person I have talked to has said they are dirty, mean, and downright corrupt, but they are all so afraid of getting "jammed-up" by the corrupt Decatur County, TN legal "system" lies and underhanded tactics that they are afraid to get involved.
We decent, honest citizens of Decatur County, TN truly need some kind of help, but we do not know where to turn and we are afraid to get a bunch of stuff stirred-up because, as everyone I've talked to has said, "they just do what they want to up here" (referring to the Decatur County, TN police, DAs, and judges).
We recently had to change hosts and the old forums were lost. I got The Speakeasy back up and going last week, even though it is not customized and tweaked-out the way I want it just yet. The Humidor is where we discuss things relating to or dealing with The OddBlog, though leaving Comments is just as easy and just as much fun. Please join us there and/or leave your comments here!

This is actually a new version of an old blog. I won't post the link to that one because the site which hosted it (it's still there) screwed me out of a bunch of money, which is the reason I moved it to my own domain. Since moving it though, I haven't had the chance to be as active here as I was on the old one, largely because I didn't have The Weirding back then, so I had much more time to blog about things. However, I am trying harder now to divide my time between all of the projects, so I hope to have more solid content up soon.
I recently posted about how you have to go into the sidebar and click on the Archives to see the older posts. That entry explains why (Blogger doesn't have a workaround or code to fix this and I haven't had the time to figure one out on my own yet) and give an apology.
Yesterday, I got up the Sitewide Disclosure Policy, which basically explains that some of the posts are sponsored. I have been working on getting more content on The Weirding, which has taken some time away from all the blogs. Decatur County, TN - Avoid At All Costs!
If you follow the other blogs, you have already heard about this and you may be sick and tired of hearing about it, but after what I've been through - the way these cats have lied, manipulated, and blatantly, brazenly ignored the legal system and the law in general - I feel the need to spread the word as far and wide as possible so as to, if not avoid more of the same, at least (hopefully) minimize my losses.
In Decatur County, TN, the local law enforcement, attorneys, and judges have decided to throw law and legal proceedings out the window and just do whatever the fuck they want to. If you surf over to The Rundown, you can get a better idea of what I'm talking about and, if you're anything like me, it should offend you to no end! I am not just upset over this because it happened to me, as you know if you are a regular Rundown reader; I loathe the offhanded insouciance with which so many disregard the law in order to "teach [someone] a lesson" and so forth. And the frequency with which this is done nowadays is appalling.
I am just asking that regular readers be aware of my online activity and, if you notice a significant lull (I don't post here every single day like I do over to The Rundown, for reasons I've discussed before), please start asking around. I'd say to call someone, but I don't know who you should call - working on figuring that out now, in fact - but if enough people at least start discussing this issue and raising questions if and when (should) something like this occurs again, there is at least a minimal chance that it will reach someone, somewhere who has the authority to do or say something to curb this sort of behavior!

Sorry...
So sorry for jumping ship. Wednesday night, as we were sitting down to watch the season finales of both Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth, the cable went out and didn’t come back on until about 2:00 yesterday afternoon! It wasn't just my cable; it went out throughout the entire town.
We were watching the Ghost Hunters reruns before the finale when it went out, and we called and went through all the "troubleshooting" tips those lying motherfuckers gave us -- but we knew it was bullshit because everyone else's was out, too. I was so upset that I missed them! I’m going to have to surf the net today to find out what happened.
Oh, and yesterday, I found out my car battery is dead. We tried and tried to get it to hold a charge, but it just won't. It was having troubles starting, and now it won't start at all without a jump. I'll have to find someone to jump me off today because I have to pay my utility bill (I completely forgot to do it with everything else going on, and today’s the last day, so I have to go to the bank to pay it).
Still, I have some things to discuss, so it isn’'t going to be an empty day or anything. It may actually wind-up being fairly busy, in fact. Just depends on how much I get done and how soon.
