Authorities are stumped as to what caused a mysterious "sonic boom" heard by hundreds throughout a rural area of Georgia, late Friday night (November 26th, 2010).
911 switchboards across three counties were swamped with calls after a noise of unknown origin rattled windows and frightened residents. No damage or smoke was found and the National Weather Service had no explanation. The sky was clear at 9:45pm but no flash or object was seen and no military planes were present at the time (allegedly).
Perhaps it was a skyquake.
