A New Zealand woman auctioned off vials said to contain the souls of two dead people for just under $2000 earlier this month. Avie Woodbury of Christchurch said the spirits were captured during an exorcism at her home and the vials dipped in holy water, which "dulls" them. One is thought to be the soul of a man who lived in the house in the 1920s, while the other is that of a "disruptive girl" who was called forth during a Ouija board session.
The auction drew over 200,000 page views. Woodbury said the proceeds would pay the exorcist's fee and the remainder donated to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
