Authorities stopped a man who was stealing a statue that turned out to be the likeness of none other than the infamous emperor, Caligula. Estimated to be worth some €1m, the statue is made of rare Greek marble and depicts the emperor garbed in god's robes seated on a throne.
Under questioning, the thief lead police to the tomb. Experts are convinced it is Caligula's, as he had a villa, floating palace, floating temple, and other holdings in the area. Excavations of the tomb have begun.
