Increased Risk of Stroke with Vitamin E

New research indicates that Vitamin E may increase the risk of certain strokes by as much as 22% in some users. The exact amount at which this increase occurs is unknown, but the study shows a strong connection between elevated levels of Vitamin E and hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding in the brain).

However, this is the least common type of stroke and Vitamin E appears to cut the risk of ischaemic strokes, the most common type, by up to 10%. Still, hemorrhagic strokes are associated with more damage, leading experts to warn against using too much Vitamin E. Increased exercise and better diet is the alternative.
