MoD to Destroy UFO Reports

The Ministry of Defense's new policy on UFO reports is to destroy them after 30 days. Apparently, this is being done to free-up resources, as opposed to hiding anything, as the MoD does not want to be bother with Freedom of Information requests for such reports.  As one former MoD employee who worked on the UFO files, Nick Pope, put it, "It's laziness -- as opposed to a conspiracy."

The Ministry of Defense received reports on some 634 UFO sightings in 2009, the most it has received since 1978 -- an average of almost two per day.  The MoD is releasing UFO reports it collected over the years its UFO program ran online.  It has released five installments so far, comprising roughly 1/3 of the total reports in its archives.
